The Waiting
A private neighbourhood street on a sunny day.
We see houses with different cars parked beside them.
The focus shifts to a particular house. There is no car there.
A shirtless man is scrupulously
sponge-washing his empty garage floor.
Night-time. A daughter and her boyfriend are kissing in a dark corner of the garage. Suddenly the light comes on and the door opens. Our protagonist is there in his pyjamas. He pushes the couple out, locks the door and calmly goes back to watching TV. Through the window he can see the couple making out in the garden, but doesn't give a damn about it.
Cut to another day. He is changing a light bulb. The garage doors are open. A cat comes into the garage and lies down on the sunny spot on the floor. Our man pushes the cat out.
He is sitting in a chair in the middle of his beloved garage, drinking coffee and looking out at the street. Some neighbours are washing their cars outside.
A geeky looking guy (Bill Gates) approaches. He has a carton box in his hands.
BG: Hey man, may i use your garage for a little pro…
His sentence is finished by the garage door sliding down. Cut.
